The King and I Wednesday 29 November to Saturday 2 December 2017
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s 1956 musical is set in 19th-century Thailand and depicts an Englishwoman being hired to serve as a tutor to the King’s children.
Both stuck in their separate cultural ways, the two eventually learn to understand, respect and love each other.
The King and I’s score contains the most enduring numbers; “Getting to Know You,” “Something Wonderful,” “Hello, Young Lovers” and “Shall We Dance,” are just some of the royally appealing tunes.
The show itself will be taking place from November 29th –December 2nd at Ponteland Memorial Hall at 7.00 pm with a matinee on Saturday at 2.00 pm.
