'Allo 'Allo

David Croft & Jeremy Lloyd
Tuesday 23rd April to Saturday 27th April 2013
The Memorial Hall, Darras Road, Ponteland.
Based on the hugely popular BBC TV comedy series written by David Croft and Jeremy Lloyd, the stage version of 'Allo 'Allo follows the adventures of René, the hapless (and somewhat randy!) café owner in the town of Nouvien, somewhere in war-torn occupied France.
René already has his hands full trying to please his two young waitresses while struggling to keep his wife Edith happy, along with the rather odd bunch of Germans who frequent his café.
He is also hiding two British airmen and trying very hard, with the help of the French Resistance, to repatriate them. However, frought communications with London through a wireless disguised as a cockatoo add to the many other embarrassments he is forced to endure.
To make things even worse, he and Edith are struggling to keep for themselves a priceless portrait, 'The Fallen Madonna with the big boobies’, which was stolen by the Nazis but is being kept hidden in the café cellar.
Matters come to a head with the news that the Führer himself is to visit the town. Now René will need all the wit he can muster to save his café... and his life!
'Allo 'Allo also had an extremely successful run here in Ponteland back in 2008 when most performances were sold-out.
Everyone involved in the show had a lot of fun and the whole Society have been looking forward to this year's production.
